In CUPE the members are in charge. Each CUPE Local decides its Priorities for:

• Contract settlement
• Fund management

CUPE Strength

CUPE’s capability comes from individual members working toward common goals. Together, we maintain and improve member wages and benefits, improve health and safety conditions, and make your workplace better.

All CUPE members work under the protection of a contract called a Collective Agreement. Your Local Union 1870 bargains the terms of the agreement and your elected local union leaders work with the employer to resolve problems in the workplace.

If you have questions about your rights at work, the best person to talk to is your local executive who has in-depth knowledge of your Collective Agreement and problem solving.
